Meet Mobile Doctors

Mobile Doctors is an initiative of VvAA: A Healthcare network of more than 120.000 healthcare professionals and healthcare institutions. Mobile doctors offers an environment in which health innovators can share their knowledge and be inspired to brainstorm, develop and implement digital advances. We aim to bring medical professionals together with the front runners in health innovation. By working together we believe we can improve the quality of healthcare!

With the MS hackathon our intent is to show that collaborations between various disciplines and perspectives lead to concrete solutions, thus improving healthcare. With this hackathon the main focus is the chronic, yet unpredictable, disease of Multiple Sclerosis.

Meet MoveS

The MoveS Foundation wants to inspire more people to move against MS and to give everyone an opportunity to do so. We do this by organizing flagship events such as the MS Hackathon, Climbing against MS and Arena Moves. MoveS also facilitates others to start organizing their own event, Your MoveS.

In the future there will be an MS-free world. But until we get there we want people with MS to keep moving. To explore their possibilities. With positive vibes. MoveS supports all contributions, big or small. We strongly believe it is not the size that matters, but the movement itself. Together we can raise funds that make a difference.

Why this MS Hackathon?

Multiple sclerosis is the most common autoimmune disorder affecting the central nervous system. We need your help to beat MS!

Multiple sclerosis (MS), also known as disseminated sclerosis or encephalomyelitis disseminata, is a demyelinating disease in which the insulating covers of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord are damaged. This damage disrupts the ability of parts of the nervous system to communicate, resulting in a wide range of signs and symptoms.

While the cause is not clear, the underlying mechanism is thought to be either destruction by the immune system or failure of the myelin-producing cells.MS is usually diagnosed based on the presenting signs and symptoms and the results of supporting medical tests.

There is no known cure for multiple sclerosis. Treatments attempt to improve function after an attack and prevent new attacks. Medications used to treat MS, while modestly effective, can have adverse effects and be poorly tolerated. Many people pursue alternative treatments, despite a lack of evidence.

Multiple sclerosis is the most common autoimmune disorder affecting the central nervous system. As of 2008, between 2 and 2.5 million people are affected globally with rates varying widely in different regions of the world and among different populations. In 2013, 20,000 people died worldwide from MS.
